We are very pleased to announce that we now offer the opportunity to renew your membership in the Puget Sound Chapter of the Oncology Nursing Society (PSONS) on-line.  We would like to encourage you to try this option.  You may use your MasterCard or VISA to take advantage of this new convenience.  There is a fee of 5% charged to your credit card if you use this new option.  Of course, you may also mail in a check with a paper copy of the membership application.  Blank applications are available on the PSONS website, or you may opt to return the membership renewal application with your current information already filled in that you will be receiving by standard mail soon.  In all cases, please be sure that your contact information is current and correct.

The other change to our membership is that our membership period is now 12 months from the time of your renewal.  We hope that this will help all of our members to encourage their oncology nursing colleagues to join PSONS year-round.   New members may use the on-line system to start their membership in PSONS, or they can contact JaRon Snow at Alliance Strategies (206) – 283-9292 for a membership application

To be a member of the chapter you must also be a member in good standing with the national organization.  Unfortunately, the membership periods differ between ONS and PSONS.  To help you remember when to renew with PSONS, you will receive a PSONS membership card once we receive your renewal and membership fee. We will also notify you when it is time to renew your membership with PSONS. Your membership in ONS runs from the time your dues are received at ONS.

Our Chapter is only as strong as its membership.  Thank you for being a member and for all your support of PSONS. I welcome your feedback on these membership changes.

Attention All PSONS Members!

Your help is needed!  In order to meet your needs, PSONS Membership committee is creating a network of PSONS members who will act as a representative for their unit, agency, workplace.  As Chair of Membership Committee, I feel there are many opportunities for sharing practice questions, research possibilities, etc.  Being a PSONS Membership rep would not take up a great deal of time, much of the communication will be over email or phone or fax if necessary.  Please consider getting involved with keeping our local Chapter alive and well by becoming your institution’s rep and contact Karen Brandstrom..
